Update: Expression of interest closes

An expression of interest (EOI) for public mental health services to participate as a pilot site for MHPOD closed during December 2009. The aims of the pilot process are to identify enablers and barriers to the successful implementation of MHPOD; support services to incorporate MHPOD in professional development programs; and to evaluate MHPOD’s effectiveness as a professional development tool.

Jurisdictions are in the process of selecting pilot sites, and most states and territories should make a choice before Christmas. Those services that submitted an EOI will then be notified of the outcome. A request for quotation was issued in late 2009 for evaluation of the pilot. Interviews were carried out in the week beginning 18 December, and it is expected that contracts will be finalised in January 2010.
